Pastoral Support
The care of our pupils is at the heart of all that we do at Beeches Junior School. We embrace each child's unique qualities and do all that we can to support our pupil's in achieving their full potential.
Our children are encouraged to make the most of their time at school and every effort is made to remove any barriers to learning. This is to provide our children with the confidence and skills needed to be active learners. For some children however; these barriers may be the reason why they cannot fully access their learning.
It is the role of the pastoral team is to work with the children to provide them with the required skills to overcome these barriers. This can involve using many different methods including:
- Drawing and Talking Therapy
- Counselling
- Group Work
- 1:1 support
- Strategic Intervention work
- Mental Health and Wellbeing support and
- Attendance support.
A child can be referred to the pastoral team for many different reasons ranging from;
- The developing of their social skills
- Promoting confidence and self-esteem
- Improving undesired behaviours and
- Building on their emotional intelligence to support their resilience.
If you think your child/family might benefit from some additional support, please feel free to contact Mrs. Liddington, our Pastoral Care Manager on the usual school number. Alternatively, you can drop her an email or a message on Class Dojo. All information will be kept confidential and only shared with the relevant people if it is believed to be in a child's best interests. This is in line with our safeguarding policy.
